The Temple of the Vedic Planetarium
A journey through creation and beyond
First, on the lowest level of the exhibits, will be Devi dhama. Devi dhama is the abode of Durga devi, the personification of material nature and the wife of Lord Shiva. Her abode is the material universe, which is divided into three regions of upper, middle, and lower planets. It can also be divided into 14 planetary systems, 7 below the earth and 6 above it. In Devi dhama will be shown the material activities of this universe and also the spiritual activities descended from the spiritual world, which are meant to liberate the fallen conditioned souls from their bondage to material nature. The next higher dhama will be Mahesh dhama, the eternal abode of Lord Sada-Shiva. This abode lies between the material and spiritual worlds and above the Causal Ocean, where Maha Vishnu, the first purusa-avatar of the Lord and the cause of the material creation, resides. In Mahesh dhama, Lord Shiva and his eternal wife, Goddess Parvati, live under a huge banyan tree surrounded by their eternal associates, who are exalted saints and sages. Here Lord Shiva, the greatest Vaishnava, eternally serves Lord Sankarsana, an expansion of Lord Balarama. Above Mahesh dhama will be Hari dhama, the eternal abode of Hari, which is also called Vaikuntha, the place where there are no anxieties. Here the four-armed Narayana form resides with His eternal consort, Laksmiji. They are surrounded by Their eternal servitors, who constantly fan their Lord, offer Him prayers, and render Him service throughout the day. Above Hari dhama and just before Goloka dhama will be Ayodhya dhama, the eternal abode of Lord Ramacandra. In Ayodhya, Lord Ramacandra; His brothers, Laksmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna; His consort, Sita; and His eternal devotees like Hanuman and others are worshiped in awe and reverence. Here the Lord's pastimes from the Ramayana will be displayed. At the highest point of the temple will be the abode of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna, Goloka dhama. In Goloka, the largest planet in the spiritual sky, devotees who are related to Lord Krishna as friends, parents, or conjugal lovers eternally serve Him. Goloka has three distinct divisions: Vrindavan, where Krishna is worshiped in His original form as a cowherd boy; Dvaraka, where Krishna is worshiped as the King of His citizens and the Lord of His 16,108 wives; and Navadvipa, where Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is worshiped by His male associates, who are constantly chanting the holy names of the Lord. At the top of the temple in Goloka dhama will be Deities of Radha and Krishna, indicating the Lord's position as simultaneously in the material world in His Deity incarnation and in His own abode in the Goloka planet in the spiritual sky. Visitors will have the opportunity to wander through these four dhama as in guided tour groups, with the option to end the tour at a designated place and return to the temple floor below. Outside the temple, dramatic theme parks will occupy three of the four corners, while a lake is in the fourth. In these parks devotees dressed as famous spiritual personalities will greet visitors, especially those with children, and engage them in Krishna katha. At scheduled times of the day and night, dramas, processions, and musical presentations will be held. There will also be covered areas for exhibits, as well as places for people to sit down and relax in the spiritual atmosphere. |
