The Temple of the Vedic Planetarium
Impact on the local economy
Since tens of thousands of people will be employed to construct the temple and thousands of others will be needed to support it after its completion, this is thus great opportunity for increased employment of the local merchants, farmers, and supporting service personnel. For example, as there will be an average of 100,000 visitors a day, all of them becoming hungry at some point and thus requiring an enormous quantity of foodstuffs, local farmers for miles around will be able to sell their produce at a good price. Also, because the temple town will attract so many people, the local shopkeepers will automatically have a large market base, as will the rickshaw and taxi drivers. All suppliers of goods and services will benefit by the building of this temple. Due to the enormous influx of visitors and support personnel required to take care of the temple, the infrastructure necessary to maintain the affairs of the temple complex and the town around it will increase the economy of the area many thousands of times above what it is today. Over the next 20 years, a huge amount of money will be spent to construct the temple. Hundreds of millions of dollars will flow into the economy of West Bengal. The project will make West Bengal and the Navadvipa area famous throughout the world. If they cooperate, the politicians of the area can also become internationally well-known. The people of the region will become thankful to their political leaders for facilitating the establishment of this monument to the glorious spiritual culture of India and for the generation of many economic opportunities. The prestige of anyone associated with the project will automatically increase. |
