Sridhama Mayapur
Management

The infrastructure of the Mayapur project was established in 1987 and since that time the management capacity has been gradually developed and perfected.

The project is divided into two main areas of concern. The first is ISKCON's Sri Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir (temple), which is managed and funded locally. The second is the Mayapur Development Authority, which is financed wholly by outside funding.

Srila Prabhupada founded the Mayapur Project and gave it its vision and direction. The GBC Body, the ultimate managerial authority for ISKCON after the departure of Srila Prabhupada from this mortal world, is responsible for carrying on his mission in Mayapur.

For ease of management, the GBC Body has appointed three representatives to oversee the ISKCON temple and related activities, including the Mayapur project: His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, His Holiness Bhakti-caru Swami, and His Holiness Harikesa Swami.

These GBC members have appointed the Mayapur Administrative Council (MAC) to be executive authorities in Mayapur. The MAC consists of senior devotees who are either department heads or leading persons in the project. The MAC now has 8 members. They meet once a week and decide on all matters affecting the project.

The CEO of the project, Dayaram das, executes the desires of the GBC and the MAC throughout the week. He takes responsibility for all important decisions as needed and verifies them at the weekly MAC meeting.

Each department in Mayapur is autonomous and is managed by a department head. The department heads may make decisions regarding the management of their departments, but they are all accountable to the MAC and, in cases of dispute between departments, the CEO and MAC. The departments are responsible for the maintenance of all the devotees in their jurisdiction.
