These search sites are in a way more practical than single engines. They are actually not search engines by themselves, but send your query to various single engines and gather the results. In this way you can consult multiple search engines simultaneously without having to visit them separately. Even when some of the consulted engines are off you will always get some result.

    Not really a multi-search engine, but rather a multiple search engine site (similar to this one and the site at C|Net).

  • CUSI
    This service provided by Nexor is also a multiple search engine site. Over 50 engines in various categories.

  • MetaCrawler
    This highly rated metasearch tool uses one search box to wade through nine other services and returns a single configured screen of results.
