An Ageless Vision - Seeing Through the Eyes of Scripture
"Philosophy without religion unavoidably leads to dry mental speculation, and religion without philosophy unavoidably leads to sentimentalism and fanaticism."
heart, that really matters to us. It cannot tell us about red and blue, bitter and sweet, beautiful and ugly, good or bad, God and eternity. Science sometimes pretends to answer questions in these domains, but the answers are often so silly that we are not inclined to take them seriously." [Erwin Schrödinger (1887 - 1961), Physicist, 1933 Nobel prize winner]
Science boldly declares to have found the origin of life and the universe, or at least some insignificant parts of its "building blocks." Medical science is now capable of hiding the symptoms of more diseases than ever existed before, and it will be only one little step further to immortality, so they guarantee. Our defense technology is capable of defending us against anything but ourselves, and advanced sociology has done its utmost best to ensure equality between men and women, criminals and victims, the sane and insane. You may have noticed an ironical undertone in the previous statements, and there is a reason for that. We like to believe that we are living in some kind of utopian environment. Reality is somewhat different, though. Behind the carefully draped mass media veil of fantasy and deception lurk the symptoms of a society rotten to the bone. They are the symptoms of a disease rooted in the primeval hunger for lording it over material nature.
