Development Structure

The Governing Body Commission (GBC) of The International Society for Krishna Consciousness is the ultimate managerial authority for the Mayapur Project.
In 1979, the GBC Body created a standing subcommittee, the Sri Mayapur Project Development Committee (SMPDC). This committee is responsible to Srila Prabhupada and the GBC to execute Prabhupada's desire to construct this project.
The SMPDC decides what is necessary for the development of the project and budgets all expenditures for this development. It then secures approval of the year's activities at the annual GBC meeting in Mayapur. The present members of the SMPDC are HH Jayapataka Swami, HH Harikesa Swami, Naresvara das, and Abhiram das.
The SMPDC's Project Director ensures that the desires of the SMPDC are fulfilled. The present Project Director is HH Harikesa Swami.
Under the SMPDC are three distinct departments:

The Design Department is responsible for the architectural development of the large planetarium/temple and executes the necessary drawings, as well as a Master Plan for the project area.

The Construction Department executes the plans and designs to a high-quality standard.

The Fund Raising Department collects the funds to finance the project.
Each of these departments is managed independent of the other two, although information freely flows between them as needed. Obviously, decisions taken by one department affect the others; therefore cooperation is essential.
